March for Our Lives

I've been working on this little project to keep track of the happenings in current events. It seems that every day things couldn't get weirder, but then they do. So, in January, I bought a pocket Moleskine and started journaling a bit from the news each day, along with a drawing for the week.  Many times I use a direct quote from a politician or other news maker, because I tend to want to hear things straight from the horse's mouth.  If you want to know more visit the "About" page.

Today, I decided to publish a blog for it, as it does seem to be turning into a rather interesting project.

I will post this week's entry, and then catch up on posting the earlier ones in the next few days.

Now, this post features sketches made while I watched the March for Our Lives held by students around the country. I am not an anti-gun person. I live and was raised in the Midwest, where hunting is a given for many of us. I don't hunt but I do like to target shoot, and eat the meats my hunting friends and family share with me. However, I think we could do a lot more to help keep our students and public safe. I admire these kids for not letting the issue die and for promoting some common sense solutions. I feel hopeful for the future knowing that kids like these are going to be the crop of new leaders in our country.
